Generators For The Home
Can anyone help with a HOME GENERATOR question?
After turning off the breaker on the home generator control panel & turning the rocker switch from AUTO to OFF I changed out the old battery for a new one. I connected the new battery- no problems except a few scraped knuckles, but when I turned the circuit breaker back on and the rocker switch back to AUTOMATIC (set to start & run for 20 min. every Sunday) the generator immediately started up and kept running for over 30 min.-the only problem was that it wouldn’t shut down after 20 min. & today is only Wednesday…WHAT’S WRONG??? I couldn’t find anything in the owner’s manuel or trouble- shooting section.

Check the programming and clock. It sounds like it was erased—probably a result of the battery being disconnected.
